KOMOCO HOLDINGS GROUP started off with only one company in 1986 known as Komoco Auto Pte Ltd with one secretary, one accountant, eight salesmen and Mr Teo Hock Seng at the helm.

Today, it is a multi-franchise firm holding sole distributorships in Singapore of Hyundai vehicles, Harley Davidson motor-cycles, Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep cars, and Ferrari supercars, apart from operating a Mercedes Benz dealership in Malaysia. Its headquarters is situated in the auto-belt of Alexandra Road, boasting a four-storey complex complete with showrooms, service centres, warehouses, workshops, and basement and rooftop car parks.

Privately owned by a board of directors that includes global hotelier Ong Beng Seng and retail tycoon Jopie Ong, Komoco Holdings was then established in 1996 following its dealership appointment by Harley-Davidson Motorcycles in 1994 and Chrysler Jeep in 1996. Komoco Auto was thereafter renamed Komoco Motors in 1996, coming under the umbrella of Komoco Holdings. From 1989 to 1998, the group also invested in auto distributorships in Australia, selling Hyundai, Chrysler, Jeep and Audi cars in a joint venture with Cycle & Carriage of Singapore. Between 1996 and 1998, the group held a near 30 % equity stake in H.R.Owen, a motor retail group in the United Kingdom.

Since 1999, Komoco Holdings has also made inroads into Indonesia, investing in Harley-Davidson dealerships in Jakarta and Bali. And in 2003, it acquired a Mercedes-Benz dealership in Malacca, a West Malaysia State, from Daimler-Chrysler Malaysia Sdn Bhd. Investment plans marked a highpoint in 2007, when Mr Ong Beng Seng was handed the challenge of jointly staging the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix with the government. Hence, the formation of Singapore GP Pte Ltd, with the Komoco group holding a substantial stake.

A major milestone was then reached in 2009, when Komoco Holdings was granted the distributorship of one of the world's most famous marques: Ferrari. Hence, the establishement of another subsidiary, Ital Auto Pte Ltd, which started operations in September 2009. Located at the Leng Kee front of the Komoco building, Ital Auto boasts a full-integrated one-stop facility for Sales and After Sales Service, the new home for Ferrari supercars in Singapore.
